Good to know

How much fabric do I need?

It depends on the window or furniture and on the pattern repeat, which is given on every product page. Your curtain maker or upholsterer will give you an exact figure; order it all at once so it comes from the same batch and arrives as one continuous length.

Can I order a sample?

Yes. Most fabrics have a sample, and up to 6 samples are delivered free. Samples show the colour and the weave, though not always the full pattern repeat.

Can fabric be returned?

Fabric is cut to order for you, so it can't be cancelled or returned. That's why we always suggest ordering a sample first.

How long will delivery take?

Every product page shows its own delivery time and an estimated arrival date. Delivery is free on UK mainland orders over £100; Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands are charged at checkout.

Do you offer trade accounts?

Yes, for interior designers, decorators and commercial projects. Find out about trade accounts.

Anna French Fabric

In 1976 a young English designer named Anna French left London with her husband John for a disused Victorian lace mill in Scotland, and set about making lace. Scottish lace remains in the collection to this day, and that beginning explains everything that followed: a fineness of line, a lightness of touch and a fondness for the motif that only reveals itself on closer inspection. Anna French now belongs to Thibaut, the oldest wallpaper house in America, and within that stable it is the romantic, the one with the English accent and the lighter hand.

Delicacy is what Anna French has always done best, from the fine leaf trail to the sprigged floral and the botanical drawn with a botanist's patience. Antilles is one of the collections our customers love most, blending 18th-century French Provincial designs with historic reproductions of Indian Indiennes, inspired by the islands' agricultural heritage and the legacy of indigo cultivation. Manor shows a bolder European elegance, with opulent prints, intricate embroideries and decorative weaves in jewel tones such as fuchsia and sapphire alongside taupe and charcoal grey.

The newest arrival is Clermont, which takes its cue from the French countryside with floral motifs, organic block prints and palampore styles. Soft, pretty and quietly characterful, these fabrics feel gathered from a French farmhouse yet sit beautifully in modern homes. Belvedere conjures the romance of a garden estate, with silk blends, jacquard wovens and rich embroideries, large-scale paisleys and delicate trellis prints. Camelot marks the debut of woven upholstery by Anna French, with moirés, medallions and dramatic embroideries drawn from legendary tales.

The range is completed by Savoy, Palampore, Nara, Meridian and Symphony, each offering pattern and texture to layer through a scheme. Many designs have a coordinating paper in the Anna French wallpaper range, so curtains, cushions and walls can be planned together.
