Wallcoverings Volume 1

Wallcoverings Volume 1 by Kirkby wallcoverings is an exciting collection exploring surfaces and textures, presented as abstract and artistic designs. Taking inspiration from two of the Kirkby fabric collections, the designs have been transformed into wallpapers which have been further elevated through to use of unique finishes including metallic finishes, grasscloth textures and fabric substrates. The intricate hand-woven details of the natural materials such as real cork and natural wood pulp paper used add a warming touch to the large-scale designs within the Wallcoverings Volume 1 collection. Kirkby's Wallcoverings Volume 1 features three awe inspiring murals including a large geometric print, freestyle graffiti and an abstract print. The Wallcovering Volume 1 celebrates the raw materials seen in nature, represented in the substrates used within the collection, Kirkby have also used modern printing techniques such as contemporary digital printing combined with a one-hundred-year-old cast iron machine to achieve a block print on the paper. The grasscloth hemp seen in the collection is harvested, hand-tied and spun on a loom to create a skilful finish.
